I have created a Xamarin Forms app. It deploys to Windows Phone emulators without any issue. But unable to deploy to Android Emulators. The output is as follows: 1>------ Build started: Project: TestIcons_VS15, Configuration: Debug Any CPU ------ 1> TestIcons_VS15 -> C: Users shanti_dev Dropbox XPAs Samples TestIcons_VS15 TestIcons_VS15 TestIcons_VS15 bin Debug TestIcons_VS15.dll 2>Starting emulator: VS Emulator 5.5' Lollipop (5.1.1) XXHDPI Phone 2>Validating emulator arguments. 2> Samsung usb driver for mac. It wouldn't complete and I have to abort the deployment. I did the following: I did uninstall the Android emulators and reinstalled them. I did remove and added back the Hyper-V in Programs and features. First I tried with the '5 inch KitKat(4.4) XXHDPI Phone' which was available immediately after installing the emulators. Then I downloaded the profile for the '5.5 inch Lollypop (5.1.1) XXHDPI Phone'. But the results are the same. As such when I installed the later profile the install got stuck at creating virtual image. See the inserted image. What am I missing? I am beginning to think that there is an issue with my laptop running VM as required by the Android emulator. First my laptop model, Acer Aspire M, is declared by Acer as incompatible with Windows 10. This I found late and it is mainly due to fact that Acer was not able to get updated drivers from the 3rd party OEMs. Second after I upgraded to Windows 10 my LAN card stopped working, not immediately but after few days. Now that is preventing me from deleting any virtual switches in VM Manager. Third many times the Android emulator used to complain about available memory to start it. ![]() After upgrading to Windows 10 the 6GB RAM in my laptop is not sufficient to support even a 2nd WP emulator, which I used to accomplish previously on Win8.1. So I decided to wait to get a new more powerful laptop in near future to try the Android emulator again. Till then I will stay put running either on a physical device or run in Xamarin Studio on Mac. Hi sm_on_live, Thank you for posting in MSDN forum. No, this didn't work for me. • I have already tried, even before posting this question, repairing, upgrading, reinstalling. That didn't help and hence I made this posting. • There was only one virtual switch present as a result of running WP emulators. I tried to delete it but was not deleting it due some issue with my LAN card. So I uninstalled and reinstalled Hyper-V feature. That didn't help anyway. • Running XdeCleanup.exe from the given directory was not removing WP8.1 emulator. So I manually removed it. Then tried to start the Android emulator. No, it didn't help Anyway proposing the above reply as answer has surprised me. We will take sometime to test the things due our own pre-occupation. And the given answers appear to be very stock as some of them were found in other posts also. So it will be good if sufficient time is given before proposing and / or setting replies as answers. Hi sm_on_live, To make sure whether it is related to Xamarin, please create a new project, not xamarin, to see if you could start the android emulator. If you could start the android emulator, I doubt that it is related to the Xamarin, I suggest you could consult this issue on the Xamarin forum for dedicated support: If you couldn't start android emulator, I think it is related to the android emulator, please make sure that you have enabled Hyper-V when installing the android emulator. ![]() Best Regards, We are trying to better understand customer views on social support experience, so your participation in this interview project would be greatly appreciated if you have time.
